Short Walk and Annual Public Meeting

We met outside at Church House on Saturday at 13:30 for a short (3½ mile) walk. With excellent timing, the sun broke through just as we set out.

We followed the Ted Ellis walk up to Draytonhall Lane, then down New Inn Lane and on to follow the stream through Rushmeadow. With the absence of significant rain for many days, this route, which can be quite muddy, was easily traversed, leading us on to the boardwalk through the woodland:

Then up to the bottom of the path up to Sandy Lane. We didn’t take that route, instead walking along the top of the ridge above the water meadow observing a vast carpet of bluebells:

Then making our way through Humbletoft estate, down Sandy Lane and up through Old Becclesgate and the churchyard to reach Church House, where our meeting and refreshments awaited.

Annual Public Meeting

At the APM, Ken Hawkins reported on what we have been doing and, more importantly, on our plans for the future where we very much welcomed your thoughts and suggestions.
