Bus walk (Beetley)

A slightly different walk which started at the earlier time of 9:50 at the Konect bus stop outside NatWest Bank to catch the 10:00 to North Elmham and then about 6½ mile walk back to Dereham.

Walking through woods

At 10:00 promptly, the Konect 21 service left Dereham, arriving in North Elmham (outside the former railway station) about half an hour later. The first part of our walk was along roads, mostly the quiet Hoe Road, to reach the top of Hoe Common.

Walking across railway crossing

After a short pause, we descended through the woods, over the road and then through Hoe Rough. Here we took a short diversion to have refreshments at Gressenhall Farm and Workhouse Museum.

Suitably rested, we followed the Wensum Way (and now also Jubilee Trail) south towards Dereham. At Gingerbread Corner we walked to and along Sandy Lane and up through the churchyard to regain Dereham town centre.
