A fine, even warm, day greeted the 16 walkers on our October short walk. We followed the western edge of The Neatherd to reach Mattishall Road, then making our way past the water tower and through the estate to reach Green Lane and, subsequently, Hoe Lodge.

Return was over the Mid-Norfolk Railway and via the restricted byways from Northall Green back to the top edge of The Neatherd. From here we used the paths across the fields to the end of Shillings Lane, rewarded with the sight of six fine maples basking in the sunshine. From here it was but a short walk back to our starting point.
